5 Tulip Chairs Knoll / Eero Saarinen

An authentic design classic of the Mid-Century Modern era, the Tulip Chair was originally created in 1955–56 as part of Saarinen’s vision to eliminate the visual clutter of traditional table and chair legs. It remains one of the most iconic seating designs of the 20th century.

This set consists of five original Tulip Chairs, manufactured circa 1975, each retaining its original Knoll seat cushion in a muted olive / avocado green fabric as highly characteristic color of the period.

Four cushions are in good vintage condition. One cushion shows minor damage, consistent with age and use, and is clearly reflected in the price. The white, lacquered fiberglass shells and the single-pedestal aluminum bases present well and underline the sculptural clarity of the design.
